My Latest Pride and Joy
Here are a few of my creations. Let’s start with the easiest …….
Make-It Take-It Class: These are projects for those who just want to get a feel of the barbed felting needle and the wool. The flat felted items are cookie cutter shapes or free-hand. The acorns are super easy and so fun.
MYSTERY FELTINGS are a fun way to be really creative, while learning the art of Dimensional Needle Felting at the same time. Your project will be totally different than anyone else’s . You will learn various techniques depending on what your “mystery” turns out to be.
Tiny Teddies Class: This Tiny Teddy, Penelope, is sporting a vest that has been flat-felted with adorable little flowers decorating her sweet little vest. Notice the adorable tiny acorn in her hand. She is permanently jointed at the shoulders and hips.

Tiny Teddies are a really fun project for a feeling of great accomplishment. Can be done after one or two of Beginner’s Projects. These bears have permanently jointed hips and shoulders to easily move arms and legs. What a great collection for yourself or wonderful gifts.
These are regular size Teddy Bears for someone who has had more practice, as they will involve a lot more needling. All teddy bears are permanently jointed at the shoulders and hips making arms and legs moveable.

These are just so fun to do as you progress. But not overly difficult. The little roly poly dolls could be done as a Nativity Scene. And who doesn’t love snow people and Santas. Yes, you will soon be able to create your own Santa. Notice how each one is as different as human Santas.
The chipmunk is an example of using a photo to re-create things you love in wool. In the center is the photo I used. Obviously, I had to imagine his body naked. In the final photo he is dressed for a good night’s sleep.

In the photos below, these people are examples of fun, free-hand characters. These type of feltings will be a total surprise who they will be when you are finished. At some point, they will tell you who they are. The first couple is Molly and Boozer……Note the red hat, hence, The Red Hat Lady. Notice Boozer’s bottle of booze. He was trying to hide it from the photo in his left hand.
Second is Proud Harry. You can see just how proud he is of his body!! Proud Harry thinks he is pretty cool.
Last, but not least, is Penny, the Cancer Survivor. She had such a beautiful bald head, I named her after a needle felting friend, who had cancer at that time. They have both since grown a full head of hair.

The next photos are examples of feltings taken from photos of real people. The little girl in Gingham was Opal Hill-Fox, my Mom at 3 years old.
The second is Laura Haviland, whom you just might recognize if you are from Lenawee County, Michigan, a famous lady who can take credit for saving so many slaves in the Underground Railroad. Her statue is in front the Lenawee County Museum.
The little boy is my husband, David Chrysler, when he was about 6. And, yes, there is a newspaper article with a story about this photo.
The Santa on the bottom was felted from the photo in picture. This awesome Santa, is Mike Venia and I could not resisting the temptation to try my hand at felting him.
